Royal Caribbean’s
Independence of the Seas
boasts a
transformation even a butterfly would envy. As the latest
beneficiary of the cruise line’s $300-million revitalization
program, the ship has rejoined the fleet for European and
Mediterranean itineraries this summer, before setting sail for
the Caribbean in November. Some of the new features include
a mammoth outdoor cinema, the Royal Babies & Tots Nursery
with Fisher-Price–designed activities, and new eateries,
including Giovanni’s Table and Cupcake Cupboard, with the
latter offering baking classes and, of course, glorious
concoctions sure to please
even the most discerning
sweet tooth!
To celebrate Oceania
Cruises’ 10th
anniversary, the cruise
line is offering a series of
four special sailings.
Indulge in some rather
decadent events,
including a gala dinner
(complete with a
private-label wine),
caviar-centric brunch,
and cocktail reception.
The commemorative
sailings will feature
enriching and
adventurous itineraries
from which to choose:
Italian Escapade, Roman
Legends, and Coastal
Everyone loves a fireworks show.
Everyone loves a cruise vacation. Enjoy
both on the
Norwegian Breakaway
! Every
New York–to-Bermuda sailing through
April 2014 will feature a dynamite
pyrotechnic display, as well as a massive 1980s-themed party inspired by the ship’s
production of
Rock of Ages
. So pack your stonewashed jeans and studded jacket —
alongside your golf shirts, of course — and get ready to jam to the music of Quiet
Riot, Devo, and Prince while fireworks sizzle across the sky.
And here’s another bang: All Norwegian Cruise Line guests now have more specialty dining options to
choose from. The Signature Trio provides discounts on three select dining experiences — a steakhouse, an
Italian eatery, and a French bistro. But plan ahead: You must reserve online before you set sail.
Happy Oceanianniversary!
