Built in 1914, this colonial-style building was constructed as a police station. Though it no longer serves as such, the structure — which is
earmarked for a public museum— has been refurbished and repainted in recent years, and its roof still resembles the shape of a traditional
police cap from that era.
n
The four-story edifice was the city’s first clock tower, a useful service since most people could not afford to buy a timepiece back then.
Unfortunately, the clock wasn’t installed until more than 60 years later because the ship transporting it sank.

Among the world’s finest beach destinations, the surrounding region is known for its bustling street markets, majestic temples, and
exciting nightlife.
