In the first 30 days after The Westin Nanea Ocean Villas opened peo-
ple came in right off the boardwalk running the length of North Kaanapali
Beach, Rabang says. “There’s a lot of foot traffic on the boardwalk, and
we have an off-property contact based there for those who want to
come and take a look at the rooms and take a tour of the property.
We’ve had some pretty good conversion from that.”
The resort reaches out to prospective owners with a generous preview
package that invites them to experience vacation ownership firsthand.
“Usually, once they tour through— if we’re doing a good job operationally
and exude that Hawaiiana — they’ll tend to convert that into a purchase.”

“Certainly, in our first 30 days of operation, the majority of our occupancy

reach. It gives those who are not owners in our Vistana portfolio an oppor-
